Paint protection
Is PPF worth considering on a used car?
How to plan paint protection film for a used vehicle: existing chips, repaint history, preparation and coverage that matches future use.

PPF is not limited to new cars. A used vehicle can be a sensible candidate when its paint is suitable and the owner understands what existing defects will remain. The decision should start with inspection and future use, not mileage alone.
Document the car before discussing coverage
Review chips, scratches, previous repairs and panel-to-panel differences. Film does not erase existing damage. Photograph defects and agree which imperfections will remain visible so the expected finish is clear before material is ordered.
Decide what preparation is justified
Cleaning and decontamination are different from polishing or repainting. Discuss each separately, including paint condition and the risk of working on repaired areas. If bodywork is needed, coordinate with the refinisher and film instructions before setting an installation date.

Match protection to the next chapter
A daily highway commute, occasional weekend driving and a long-term collection car have different exposure patterns. Compare front-end protection with additional rocker, rear-arch or other vulnerable areas. A vehicle's value alone does not identify the most useful coverage.
Compare the complete proposal
Ask which panels, preparation and edge treatments are included. If film is already present, account for removal and inspection underneath. Motenza can help define a used-car project from current condition and intended use; the final scope should identify both protected areas and visible existing imperfections.
Before your next step
- Disclose repaint history and existing film.
- Agree on defects that will remain visible.
- Choose coverage for actual driving exposure.
