Paint protection
Why does paint protection film look yellow?
Separate surface contamination from a change in PPF itself, compare panels safely and prepare useful information for a professional assessment.

A yellow appearance can come from contamination, aging or the way a protected panel contrasts with adjacent surfaces. A photograph alone cannot establish the cause. Clean gently, inspect under neutral light and identify the installed product before deciding on treatment.
Compare under consistent light
Move away from warm garage lighting and strong colored reflections. Compare clean areas of the same panel and note whether discoloration follows the film boundary. Paint underneath, surrounding trim and lighting can affect the impression; avoid judging from an edited phone image.
Rule out removable contamination carefully
Use the exact film's approved cleaning routine. Do not jump to abrasive compound, bleach or an aggressive solvent. If marks persist after appropriate cleaning, stop escalating the treatment and ask the installer to assess whether the change is at the surface or within the material.

Check the records, not a generic warranty
Locate the brand, product series, installation date and written coverage. Yellowing provisions, exclusions and claim procedures depend on the actual product and circumstances. A competitor's warranty is not evidence of the warranty on your car. Photograph the condition before any removal.
Choose the scope after diagnosis
A local issue and widespread material deterioration can lead to different replacement decisions. Ask how adjacent panels will look and whether the paint needs preparation after removal. Motenza can review the visible condition and records before discussing a suitable replacement scope.
Before your next step
- Inspect a clean car in neutral daylight.
- Keep film and installation records.
- Avoid stronger chemicals without compatibility confirmation.
