Care & maintenance
Your first week after a car wrap
Plan the first days after a vinyl wrap: washing instructions, parking, edge checks and the information to keep from your installer.

The first week is about following the instructions for your exact film and installation. Avoid substituting a generic online waiting period for the written handover. Keep the finish clean, leave edges alone and report changes before trying to repair them.
Leave with a clear care schedule
Ask when washing can begin, which cleaners are compatible and whether a return inspection is recommended. Different films have different care requirements. Record the product name, finish and installation date so later advice applies to the material actually fitted to your car.
Make the first wash a gentle one
Once washing is permitted, choose a cool surface and a clean, controlled hand wash. Remove loose grit before touching the finish. Avoid abrasive tools and directing strong water at seams. Do not add wax, polish or a ceramic product simply because it was safe on the original paint.

Watch changes without disturbing them
Take a photo if you notice a bubble, wrinkle or lifting edge. Note when it appeared and whether it is growing. Pressing, puncturing or heating an unfamiliar defect can make diagnosis harder. Contact the installer for guidance, particularly around mirrors, recesses and exposed film edges.
Plan around South Florida conditions
Choose shaded parking when practical and avoid allowing contamination to dry on hot panels. If a spill or bird residue appears before the first wash is allowed, ask for a compatible spot-cleaning method. A care plan should address real use, including outdoor parking and your usual washing arrangements.
Before your next step
- Keep the exact film and care instructions.
- Photograph concerns before touching them.
- Confirm products before applying a coating or wax.
