Does ceramic coating prevent scratches and stone chips?

A ceramic coating does not make paint scratch-proof or replace an impact-protection film. Choose it for the properties of the specific coating and the maintenance plan you can follow. Physical coverage and careful washing remain separate decisions.

Understand what each layer does

A coating is a surface treatment; PPF is a physical film applied to selected areas. They address different needs and may be combined when compatible. Do not interpret a hardness label as a promise that keys, grit or road debris cannot damage the finish.

Washing technique still matters

Dragging contamination across the surface can leave marks even when a coating is present. Use clean tools, remove loose dirt first and follow the approved care method. Easier cleaning does not mean careless cleaning becomes safe.

Plan around actual exposure

For a car driven frequently on highways, discuss the panels exposed to debris. For an owner prioritizing washing and appearance, discuss the coating's maintenance requirements. The right comparison is between specific scopes, not a general contest in which one product must replace every other form of protection.

Read the proposal carefully
