Care & maintenance
Ceramic coating curing: what if it rains?
Plan the curing period after ceramic coating, distinguish handover from full cure and respond to rain without damaging a fresh surface.

A coated car may be ready for collection before the coating has completed its curing process. Water exposure and washing restrictions depend on the product. Ask for a specific handover plan, including what to do if South Florida weather changes unexpectedly.
Get the product-specific schedule
Confirm when normal driving, water exposure, washing and maintenance products are permitted. These are not necessarily the same milestone. Record the coating name and application date. A generic online cure time cannot account for every product, application environment or installer process.
Arrange the first parking location
Discuss whether sheltered storage is recommended and plan pickup accordingly. Avoid booking an immediate wash or leaving the car under sprinklers. If exposure occurs, note the time and conditions rather than assuming the entire installation has failed.

Do not improvise a correction
Contact the installer for the appropriate response. Aggressive rubbing, unapproved sprays or early polishing may cause more trouble than the original water exposure. If drying is advised, use the method and clean tools specified for the coating's current stage.
Separate spots from coating performance
Water marks do not by themselves establish whether a coating has cured correctly or failed. An inspection may be needed after permitted cleaning. Motenza can discuss coating selection, pickup timing and a practical care plan; an appointment should account for both application and the period afterward.
Before your next step
- Get separate instructions for water, washing and products.
- Plan sheltered parking when recommended.
- Report unexpected rain before attempting correction.
